Becoming LDS

I have always really liked the word becoming because it sounds so never-ending and progressive. I used to say, "One day I want to be a Mom." Now I am a Mom but I am still in the process of becoming the Mom that I hope to be one day. There are so many other instances in our lives where we hope to become something that we are not, to achieve a goal. to obtain a talent or a characteristic. When we are in the process of becoming better we are always growing and coming closer to Jesus Christ. To become means to grow to be. I love that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about growing and becoming better, becoming whatever it is we want to be and have the potential to be. My hope is that this blog will give a small glimpse of what we can become and what we need to do to get there.

You are so insightful! I often use the word "trying", but "becoming" sound so much more progressive.
