Preparing Our Children for General Conference

With General Conference just around the corner and with the reminder of a great article in the Ensign I figured it was about time for a post to help us all to be a little more prepared for Conference this time around.

You can read the ariticle from the Ensign here ---> Preparing Our Children for General Conference.

To read the ideas found in this article but in a more condensed form you can read this document put together by Kate found on Sugardoodle.net.

In addition to this great article filled with ideas are these great activities to keep your children involved during Conference:

2009 General Conference Packet by Melanie Day.
Here is my post from the last General Conference. This post is filled with links to many activities, some of them will still work this time but others will be missing some of the changes.

I hope this helps everyone get ready to have an enjoyable conference experience with the whole family. I'll be sure to post more if I find more packets and activities and would love to hear what traditions or activities your family takes part in each time Conference rolls around.

I felt giddy when I saw this post because I wrote part of that Ensign article (we're the minnesota family), and I had no idea that people put out documents on line to help people do some of those ideas. That is so cool; makes me feel so good. Thanks.

Steph, I didn't give you enough credit in my last comment. I had read the article a little bit ago and when you mentioned you were in it and checked it out again but thought your contribution was much shorter than it was. You gave some great ideas and many more than I first realized! Thanks!

This is a great blog! We also need to teach our children about The Title of Liberty and the Nephites.

I also read the article this week and really was inspired to do better at getting my children ready for the awesome weekend.

How fun you have a follower that helped with the article. I will have to go back and read it again.
I like your blog and the fun ideas you have on here. I'll come visit again. I came over from Its great to be Queen.

I'm coming over from Mormon Mommy Blogs, asking for your help. I am in the running for a round trip airfare paid ticket to Connecticut, to meet a friend I became acquainted with through blogging. She is a super fun person and is holding this contest. I entered a funny story titled "Grapejuice Floaties, Now Marry Me." The person whose story receives the most votes will win a trip to meet this generous lady, whom I'm hoping to meet. The voting ends tonight-midnight. I used to be ahead but there is a story coming up from behind out of nowhere, and it's a tight race now. I would so much appreciate your help. Her blog is www.becausemomsaidso.blogspot.com and the voting is on the sidebar on the right. "Grapejuice, Floaties" Just go there and cast a vote for me, please. Thanks so much-you're awesome! ♥♥
YOUR VOTE REALLY WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
